Massage

"Massage is so much more than just working muscles.  I integrate modalities, and listen to your body.  Give me a chance to help you heal yourself.  Your body and soul contains all the wisdom necessary.  I just facilitate the action."

Therapeutic Massage

Therapeutic massage is deeply relaxing and rejuvenating.  There are lots of reasons why one might want to get a massage on an ongoing basis.  With the stressors of modern life, we could all use a little stress management.  In addition, most people have aches and pains that massage can help alleviate.

Blood flow and energy flow (Qi) are greatly increased by the gentle loosening and stretching of the muscles and tendons.  In the process the nervous system also relaxes completely.  The peaceful flow that is created throughout the body by the massage is excellent for rejuvenating every system and cell of your body.

The Art and Science of Massage

The theories of therapeutic massage are scientific in character, but the actual application of these theories is an art, for it involves the healing sense, sensitivity of touch, insight and intuition.  It is a unique way of communicating without words, sharing energy, enjoying pleasurable relaxation, and experiencing peace of mind. Massage is often attributed to have an ethereal spiritual effects akin to those of meditation.

Massage Therapy for Health and Fitness

Andrea uses massage in service to her patients with her acupuncture treatments when she determines that it will be useful to them. Most people can benefit from a large reduction of tension in their muscles, tendons and facia and Andrea's deep tissue massage and extremely focused energy melt the tension away very strongly and efficiently.  She also does a powerful Qi Gong treatment for people who just need energy work without the deep tissue massage.

Tui Na is a form of Chinese massage used in conjunction with Acupuncture, Chinese Herbalism, Tai Chi and Qi Gong.  Chinese Healing Arts uses the Traditional Chinese Medicine model of eight principles to diagnose the imbalances in the  patient so as to formulate a personalized treatment plan in an effort to harmonize and bring into balance the body, mind and spirit.
